How I Chose Blogger Over WordPress (For Now)

Over the past few weeks, I changed my mind more times than I can count.

One day I was convinced AI Workbench Lab had to be built on WordPress.

The next day I was exploring Blogger.

Then I found myself comparing hosting companies, themes, plugins, and website builders all over again.

If you’ve ever started a website, you probably know exactly how that feels.

The more options you discover, the harder it becomes to make a decision.

I Wanted to Build It Properly

I’m the kind of person who likes doing things properly.

If I was going to build something, I wanted it to be something I could be proud of.

I wanted a fast website.

A clean design.

Strong SEO.

Room to grow.

WordPress seemed like the obvious choice.

So I did what most people do.

I started researching.

Hosting providers.

Themes.

SEO plugins.

Performance.

Security.

Backup solutions.

I watched YouTube videos.

Read blog posts.

Compared pricing.

Looked at reviews.

At one point, I was genuinely close to purchasing hosting and starting the entire setup.

None of that time was wasted.

I learned a lot.

But eventually, I noticed something that made me stop.

I Was Building Everything Except the Blog

One evening, I looked back at everything I had done.

I had compared hosting companies.

I had shortlisted themes.

I had researched plugins.

I had watched tutorials.

But I hadn’t written a single article.

That realization hit harder than I expected.

I wasn’t building a blog.

I was building the idea of a blog.

Another Project Changed My Perspective

Around the same time, I was also building another business website using modern AI tools.

For that project, a more advanced platform made perfect sense.

It was a real business with real customers.

It needed flexibility, custom features, and room to expand.

AI Workbench Lab was different.

This wasn’t about launching another polished business website.

It was about documenting a journey while I was still living it.

A place to share what I’m learning as I build websites, explore AI tools, improve SEO, and make plenty of mistakes along the way.

The purpose wasn’t perfection.

The purpose was progress.

Why Blogger Made Sense

That’s when Blogger started making sense.

Not because it’s better than WordPress.

But because it removed everything that was stopping me from creating.

No hosting.

No plugins.

No complicated setup.

I signed in with my Google account.

Created the blog.

Published my first article.

For the first time in days, I wasn’t thinking about websites anymore.

I was thinking about ideas.

And honestly, that’s where my attention should have been all along.

A Lesson I’ll Probably Never Forget

One evening, I closed every hosting comparison tab on my browser.

I stopped looking at themes.

I stopped comparing plugins.

Instead, I opened a blank page and started writing.

That’s when I realised something that completely changed the way I looked at this project.

A perfect website with no content helps no one.

A simple website with valuable content can help thousands.

From that moment on, the decision became surprisingly easy.

I wasn’t trying to build the perfect website anymore.

I was trying to build something that people would actually read, learn from, and hopefully find useful.

Looking back, I think many of us spend too much time preparing.

We convince ourselves that we need the perfect setup before we begin.

The perfect logo.

The perfect website.

The perfect AI tool.

The perfect moment.

I’ve learned that progress doesn’t come from perfect preparation.

It comes from publishing, learning, improving, and repeating.

That lesson alone made choosing Blogger the right decision for me.

Final Thoughts

Will AI Workbench Lab stay on Blogger forever?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

One day I might move everything to WordPress.

If that day comes, it’ll be because the project has outgrown Blogger—not because I was afraid to start.

Looking back, I don’t think I chose Blogger because it’s a better platform.

I chose it because it was the better platform for me, at this stage of my journey.

Sometimes the best decision isn’t choosing the most powerful tool.

It’s choosing the tool that gets you moving.

And that’s exactly what Blogger did for me.
